ATOMIC ENERGY EDUCATION SOCIETY

Atomic Energy Central Schools are run and managed by Atomic Energy Education Society, an Autonomous Body, under the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt of India. The Governing Council of the Society consists of members who are senior officers and scientists /engineers of the Department of Atomic Energy and eminent educationists.

At present the society is running schools at Mumbai & Tarapur (Maharashtra), Hyderabad & Manuguru (Telangana), Jaduguda, Narwapahar & Turamdih (Jharkhand), Narora (UP), Kakrapara (Gujarat), Oscom (Odisha), Indore (MP), Rawatbhata (Rajasthan), Kalpakkam, Anupuram, Kudankalam & Pazhayakayal (Tamil Nadu) & Kaiga, & Mysore (Karnataka).

GENERAL INFORMATION

AEC Schools aim at providing an atmosphere conducive for the integral development the students to meet future challenges. AEC Schools have classes from Pre-Preparatory to Class- X to prepare the students for the All India Secondary School Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

Classes XI and XII in Mumbai and Tarapur, are affiliated to Maharashtra Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Mumbai; at Kalpakkam, and Kudankulam, they are affiliated to the Board of Tamilnadu Higher Secondary Education, Chennai.

At all other centres, higher secondary classes are affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. Senior Secondary Classes affiliated to CBSE are also functioning in Mumbai and Tarapur along with the junior colleges affiliated to the State Board.

ACADEMIC YEAR

The Academic year begins on the 1st April and concludes on the 31st March.

SCHOOL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

AEC Schools have a School Advisory Committee for guidance and co-ordination at the school level. It is headed by the Vice-Principal and comprises some of the senior teachers and parents as members.

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION

The medium of instruction is English

ADMISSION RULES

  1. a) Dates of Admission

The process of admitting pupils to various classes begins in January and is finalised by March, in general.

  1. b) Admission Process

For Classes-II to VIII, the wards of DAE employees are admitted on submitting a transfer certificate along with a satisfactory academic record. However, Class- IX onwards, the students shall be admitted on the basis of their performance in the admission test. Wards of Non-DAE personnel shall be admitted subject to availability of seats.

  1. c) Birth Certificate

The original birth certificate issued by the Municipality/Municipal Corporation should be produced while seeking admission to Pre-Prep, Prep and Class-I. The birth certificate issued by a Panchayat Officer, Village Mukhiya /Sarpanch of a Gram Panchayat should be endorsed by the Revenue/Panchayat Gazetted Officer of the area concerned and should be produced at the time of admission. Admission will not be granted on the basis of an affidavit in lieu of a birth certificate.

The original birth certificate must be produced while seeking admission to Class-II and above for cross checking.

  1. d) Transfer Certificate

Those seeking admission to any class from Class-II to Class-X will be required to give a valid T.C. from the school last attended along with the attested copy of the birth certificate. The T.C.  produced should be signed by the head of the institution and countersigned by an officer not below the rank of a District Inspector of Schools, Education Department of the State/Union Territory concerned.

  1. e) Non –DAE Category

Admission of the children of Non-DAE category in AECS is not automatic. Such admissions are decided by AEES.

Applications are issued for such children during January & February only as per AEES circular through its website aees.gov.in.

SEEP (Societal Enrichment Educational Programme):

The Societal Enrichment Educational Programme is a policy decision made by AEES to extend free educational facilities to the children of weak socio-economical families from the neighbouring villages. Accordingly, AECS, Manuguru has been adopting children from socially and economically disadvantaged families from the neighbourhood of Aswapuram every year by admitting them to Class-I since the year 2000-2001. These children are exempted from paying any kind of fee. In addition, they are provided with text books, note books, uniform, stationary, medical facilities available in the Colony Hospital and a monthly scholarship of Rs 400 and Rs 300 to each girl and boy respectively.

RTE (Right to Education): AEC schools have been admitting students under RTE as per the guidelines of the Government of India. Children admitted under RTE are also exempted from paying any kind of fee. They too are provided with text books and note books.

The minimum age of a student seeking admission to any class should be as under, as on 31st March of the calendar year (born on or before March 31st) :

SCHOOL FEE

The fee is charged for all the twelve months of an academic session. However, fee for the students of AECS, joining in the middle of the academic session, on account of transfer, will be charged from the month in which they are admitted, provided they have paid the fee for the earlier months in the previous school.

Please note the following:

  1. Full fee for Non-DAE children who joined during 2018-19 or after.
  2. No Tuition fee for No-DAE children of BPL/FSC if joined during 2017-18 or before.
  3. Non-DAE children who joined during 2017-18 or before, tuition fee on par with DAE, if Annual Income of both the parents combined together is less than Rs 1,50,000/-.
  4. No Tuition Fee for 3rd child of a Central Government SC/ST employee.
  5. No Tuition Fee for 3rd girl child of a Central Government employee.
  6. Fee is to be deposited online in the PUVVN Account & AEES Account during the allotted period. After due date the fee will have to be paid with a fine of Rs 10/- each (online) in the PUVVN & AEES Account.
  7. Students who are children of DAE employees who have superannuated or have expired while in service or who have become invalidated while in service will be treated on par with DAE wards.
  8. Children of DAE employees who have resigned, taken voluntary retirement, been compulsorily retired from service or terminated will be charged fee applicable to Non-DAE wards.
