Academic Activities:
The academic session for the year 2019-20 began on 1st April, 2019.
The elementary function of a school is academic transaction. The faculty of the school has been providing their unstinted services with dedication and consistency. In addition to regular classroom instructions and periodical examinations, MCQ tests are being conducted on a regular basis in Mathematics, Science and Social Studies for Classes-VI to X and in Mathematics and EVS for Classes-IV & V. The school also takes several measures to foster the intellectual growth and enrichment of the pupils like:
- Remedial and supervisory study classes: Supervised study sessions for students of Classes-IX and X are being conducted on a regular basis especially before the term-exams. A special time table is chalked out keeping in mind the number of hours needed to revise each subject. Remedial classes for all other classes are also conducted periodically.
- External Examinations: Many external examinations are conducted to expose the children to the competitive world outside the school and strengthen them.

The School Level Science, Mathematics and Social Science exhibition was conducted for students from standards IV to X on 11th July 2019. The total number of exhibits was 96 including all the three subjects. The Deputy General Manager (Process), HWP (M) and Member, LMC, Sri VVSA Prasad inaugurated the exhibition and toured around the exhibits interacting with the young enthusiasts.
'Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research' (INSPIRE) scheme is one of the flagship programmes of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The INSPIRE Award - MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), being executed by DST with National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF), an autonomous body of DST, aims to motivate students in the age group of 10-15 years and studying in Classes-VI to X. The objective of the scheme is to target one million original ideas/innovations rooted in science and societal applications to foster a culture of creativity and innovative thinking among school children. Under this scheme, schools can nominate 2-3 best innovative ideas online through this website.
Two students- A.Likhita -XA and S.Anvesh-VIIIA were short listed to participate in the District Level Exhibition and Project Competition (DLEPC). If successful, they’ll participate in the state level event. They were awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000/- each by the Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.
Co-Curricular Activities:
Co-curricular activities form an integral part of students’ life in the school. Great efforts are put in to provide students with experiences and opportunities to hone their soft skills. As many as 20 events were conducted for students of the secondary school and 14 events for students of the primary. The activities ended with the traditional wear competition for the students from Classes-VI to X.
The prize winners of all the CCA competitions from the secondary school received their prizes on the CCA Day- 11th December 2019. The Chief Guest of the event was CISF Commandant, Shri Shiv Ratan Meena. On 12th December the Prep-Wing organised its CCA and Sports Prize distribution. Shri Kunal Lambhate, Deputy Chief Fire Officer gave away prizes to the tiny tots.

- The painting by S.Anvesh of VIIIA was selected at the State Level Art Competition conducted by the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India and he was presented with a certificate of appreciation, a gift hamper and a cash award of Rs 2000.
- PCRA or The Petroleum Conservation and Research Association conducted a painting competition on 23rd Sept 2019.
- The Inter AEES Art Competition was held on 9th December 2019.
It is said that the greatest gifts we can give children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.
The investiture ceremony that formally sets all the CCA and Sports activities of the school in motion, was organised on 10th July with the Chief Guest, Sri VVSA Prasad bestowing the insignia and responsibility on the shoulders of the young leaders of the school, thereby constituting the Students’ Cabinet that helps in the day to day organisation of events, discipline and acts as an intermediary between the faculty and the students. In an elaborate, quaint and somber ceremony the students and office bearers were presented with the house colours and their respective insignia.

AECS (M) hosted the Zonal Level (South Zone) Debate in Hindi and the Science Quiz in Hindi on 30th and 31st August 2019.
Every year AEES conducts a quiz for students of Class-VIII with two students representing their respective school in this event. A.V. Pranav Kaushal-VIIIB and S. Sri Ram Sanjay-VIIIA qualified to participate in the quiz that was held in Mumbai in the month of January 2019.
Bhadrachalam Balotsav was held from 15th November 2019 to 17th November, 2019 at Bhadrachalam. A team of students participated in various events. Master A.Vishal-XB bagged the II-prize in Spell Bee in the senior category.
The hub of CBSE schools in the district of Bhadradri Kothagudem has formed a cluster wherein a slew of activities and competitions are conducted for the students of the member schools to showcase their talent and enhance solidarity among the HOL Members. Medha- a competitive event was held immediately after the Term-I exams on the 26th and 27th September 2019 at Bhadrachalam Public School where the young orators from our school bagged a load of prizes helping in bringing home the ‘Runners Up’ trophy.
The school choir of ten students participated in the Inter AECS Music Competition held at AECS, Narora from8th to 10th November 2019.
Special Days Observed and Celebrated:
हिंदीपखवाड़ा-14 सितंबर- 28 सितंबर 2019:Hindi, one of India’s official languages, carries the nation’s ethos. Every year the nation celebrates the Hindi Fortnight or हिंदीपखवाड़ा. All government institutions participate in various activities undertaken during this period. We too at AECS (M) conducted a slew of activities for instilling pride for our national language and for advocating its wide use. Competitions like translation of words, essay writing , elocution were among the ones conducted dividing students and the staff into different categories. The closing ceremony of the fortnight was organised on 28th September and prizes were given away.- Teachers’ Day 2019:

Teachers have three loves: Love of learning, love of learners and the love to bring the first two loves together.
On Teachers’ Day the school was agog with students of Class-X getting a taste of what it takes to be a teacher as they were given an opportunity to teach in classes III to IX.
Additionally, they organised a special cultural event for their teachers.
Smt Susmita Mohapatra, PRT, was felicitated by the CGM, HWP (M) & Chairman, LMC, Sri Jitendra Srivastava, on her completion of 25 years of service in AEES. Later the Chairman, LMC joined the Principal, the Vice principal, the Head master and the staff members for a luncheon that was arranged in the school.

Children’s Day 2019 was a day of joyous celebration and fun for all the students. Staying with this ethos, the students of Class-X took it wholly upon themselves to organize fun filled games and activities for all the students from Classes III to IX. They did a remarkable job. For over three hours all the students stayed in the auditorium enjoying the games. The students were pleasantly surprised by the sudden visit of the CAO, HWP (M) & Member, LMC, Shri K.Swaminathan, who interacted with the children and also narrated a story to them.
- Prize Distribution Days 2019-20
CCA and Sports Prize distribution days were organised from 9th December 2019 to 12th December 2109 in the auditorium.
Over 1547 prizes were given away by the chief guests who graciously accepted our invitation for the occasion.
On 9th Dec 2019, Dr Santhasri, Medical Officer, HWP(M) hospital, gave away the prizes to the CCA winners of the Primary school.
On 10th December Dr Vijay Kumar, Medical Superintendent, HWP(M) hospital graced the school as chief guest for the Sports Prize Distribution of the Primary School.
On 11th December Commandant Shiva Ratan Singh Meena, CISF, HWP(M) was invited as the chief guest. He presented the CCA trophies to the prize winners of the Secondary School.
On 12th December Shri Y,S.Chakradhar, Production Manager, Process, HWP(M) accepted the invitation and presented trophies to the Sports prize winners of the Secondary School.
Games & Sports:
Annual Sports Coaching Camp- Every year, AEES organises a 21day-long sports coaching camp in collaboration with the DAE Sports and Cultural Council, in which students from Classes IV to IX enroll and train in various sporting events .Coaches are drawn from various sporting organisations. During this period the students not only learn the nitty gritty of the games but also are kept constructively busy and fit. The camp is held in two phases- preliminary and the main camp. This year the closing ceremony was conducted with Shri Arun Bose, the then DGM, Member LMC, as the chief guest. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the participants.
Extra Curricular Activities:
- a) NCC: Heeding the call of the Nation:
NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose.
Our school does its bit in encouraging our students to join NCC by enrolling children from Classes VII &VIII and providing them training in target training, marching, exercise and discipline. This is done to inculcate in them the spirit of unity, national pride and service.
This year 24 JW and 22 JD cadets have been enrolled in NCC.
Cadet T.Harshit-XA qualified to compete in the Telangana State NCC team in the firing competition. This could be achieved only after he passed through rigorous training along with participating in competitions at various levels.
1.b)The International Day of Yoga (21st June 2019)
The International Day of Yoga is celebrated on 21 June .Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which is believed to have its origin in our country. The motto of celebrating it world-wide is promotion of global health, harmony and peace.
This year, like the yesteryears, it was celebrated with equal enthusiasm. In the school all the students participated in performing yogasanas collectively in the auditorium. The staff too joined students in performing the asanas. A group of students from Class-IX joined the employees of HWP(M) in Tarangini Hall and performed yogasanas with them.
- c) The 73rdIndependence Day and the 70th Republic Day:
On 15th August, 2019, and 26th January 2020, the Independence Day and Republic Day were observed respectively with the euphoria of patriotism and positivity reflecting on all the students’ faces. The tricolor was hoisted by the Principal Shri V.Srinivasa Rao, in the frontage of the school. The students and staff joined the school choir in singing the national anthem. Speeches in Hindi, Telugu and English were presented by the students and a few patriotic songs were sung by the school choir.
Later, the students and the staff joined the residents of Gautaminagar Colony for the common celebrations at Kalavedika. Four contingents of the school joined CISF, Fire Services and the colony security personnel in the parade.
- d) Vigilance Awareness Week:
Vigilance Awareness Week is observed in the week in which the nation celebrates the birth anniversary of the first Home Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhai Patel. It is observed in order to bring in more accountability, transparency and integrity among people in the society as well as people in public life. A wide variety of activities were organised in the school towards this effect. The vigilance awareness week oath was administered to the teachers by the Vice Principal, Sri Kashinath Behera. Competitions were conducted for students to participate in and understand the importance of being an upright citizen. Around 60 prizes were given away to students.
- e) Library Week: 14thto 20th November:

The library of an educational institution is the focal point of a large number of activities both for the staff and the students.
Children are encouraged to read and improve their understanding of things around them. A range of activities are conducted for students marking the Library Week.
Competitions like ‘Book Review’, ‘Best Library User’ and the others were organised for students from Classes IV to X.
- f) The Communal Harmony Week- 19th November to 24th November 2019.

The Communal Harmony Week was observed in the school to instill in students the concept of harmonious living, tolerance and unity among individuals, respecting differences, in order to maintain peace and prosperity in the country.
In the morning assembly, students presented speeches, inspirational thoughts and G.K questions based on it. This week is observed marking the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister, Smt Indira Gandhi.
Competitions such as essay writing, slogan writing and poster making were organised in line with the directives of CBSE. Students of Classes VIII & IX participated in a Peace March in the colony to convey the message of harmonious living.
- g) Festivals Celebrated by prep students:
A precious lesson- respecting all faiths- is learnt in life at a very young age in school by the tiny tots by celebrating a range of festivals from Rakhi to Diwali, from Christmas to Eid. Colourful cards and festoons are made by them. The teachers, the HM, the Vice- Principal and the Principal are invited to be to be part of their celebrations.
- h) Swachhta Pakhwada:
‘A clean and hygienic life is a part of basic human dignity.’
In keeping with the principles of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the school observed the Swachhta Pakhwada from 14th February to 28th February 2020. Students and the staff actively participated in the observance and undertook various measures to keep the school precincts clean and hygienic.
Sri A.C.Shekhar, SO/G, HWP(M), interacted with the students of Classes VII and VIII on 28th February, on the topic ‘Swachhta in the Mind and Development of a Scientific Temper’, apt for the day as it was not only the culmination of all the activities of the Swachhta Pakhwada but was also the National Science Day.
- i) Educational trips:
‘Travelling broadens one’s horizon and perspective.’
The students of Classes IV to X were taken on educational tours to various places of interests in Bhadradri Kothagudem District.
The students of Classes-IV were taken on an educational trip to AIR station in Kothagudem. The students were taken around the studio and they were explained how programmes are recorded and broadcast.
The students of Class V, VI, & VII visited the Chirumalla reserve forest in Bayyaram.
The students of Class VIII were taken to Kothagudem Thermal Power Plant (KTPS), Palvancha.
The Class IX and X students were taken to the open cast coal mines in Manuguru, 15 kms from here where they witnessed mining and other related activities.
These trips were very enlightening and entertaining as they were a welcome break for the children from their routine in school.
